Telegram app Review

Apps, Mobile devices, computers, Blogs posts, vids,….

I have been using Telegram for some of the above mentioned features for about 4 – 6 months.

In Comparison to some of the other popular “Social Media” options, Telegram has features that work well and are useful and is designed a little different.

Broadcasting Posts and Chats

The features are set up in Channels and groups, both are options to post and broadcast live chats, although channels are able to broadcast to more, for example, approx. 200,000.

The features work well, the live chat can be recorded and can be Audio Only, or Video.

There are features that I haven’t used yet, like the multi-person chat options.

The editing options in the posts allow for editing and creativity.

Local and Nearby

At first, there weren’t many other people using Telegram in my area, U.S.A., although after trying the “nearby” feature several times, eventually a list of other users in my area was listed and I started a “local” channel and invited that list of people.

Channels can be “local” or for any location.

The address that is posted to my local channel is not correct and is not editable.

The GPS posted an address close to where I am, although it is someone else’s address.

I posted a Notice about the error on the channel.

Privacy

I would prefer not to have the address posted, although for local channels it seems to be required.

Other options and design features that reduce distractions and “overload” are the Bulletin Board feature in other Social Media apps….that is not a Main feature in Telegram.

Free and Premium

The Telegram app can be found on app stores and might be downloaded from it’s own website….

Many features are free.

There is an option for Premium Membership with added features.
